Youssou
N'Dour starts Birima.

It
has been a pleasure to see from first row the starting of Birima, the
microcredit program created by celebrated senegalese singer Youssou N'Dour
for Africa.
Benetton is a major contributor to this program and through them I was
involved in the shooting of a videoclip in Goree Island (directed by Babak
Payami) and afterwards in the press conference were the project was presented
to the media. I was also responsable for the visuals and the VJing for
the concert offered by Youssou N'Dour after the press conference.

Yeux Ouverts, the exhibition showcasing the work of FABRICA curated by
Marie-Laure Jousset, Head of the Centre Pompidou’s Design Department
travels to China and with it goes some of my video work which is in display
in the show.
Print, video, interactive, industrial design all done by the "fabricanti"
researchers since the creation of FABRICA in 1994.

Studio at Galeria Barbarin

Galeria
Barbarin is a new Art Gallery opening in Madrid. For the opening night
they have commissioned a site-specific project to artist Roberto Coromina.
The week-long creation of his artwork was recorded using computer-controlled
Stop motion and will be also presented as a video projection that night
and later on sold as a limited edition DVD along with the destruction
of the artwork.
I have directed all video work so go check the results!

In
2004 I decided to take a break from my normal life in Madrid and left
for Portugal to find answers to many vital
questions that haunted me. The time that I spent there, mainly in Lisbon,
became a crucial one in my existence, helping me define some of the ideals
that have guided me ever since.
This book was born as a way to create a permanent bond with the country
that had given me so much. It's my own way of saying "thank you"
and trying to give something back to the portuguese.
Obviously this is all disguised as a book on graphic design that should,
in reality, be helpful to designers, architects and anyone interested
in learning about these aspects of Portuguese culture.
The book includes a prologue writen by Dr. Paulo Henriques, then Director
of the National Museum of Tile of Portugal.

screening at the Instituto Cervantes in Albuquerque, New Mexico (USA)

Diego
Hurtado de Mendoza, representing the duo inDaga was invited for a video
screening held at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in
New Mexico (USA) within the exhibition "Territorios / Sense of Place".
A very special microdocumentary on the city, "the ABQ RIDE",
was shot in just 24 hours and premiered the day after portraying the punk
music scene of the so-called Duke City.

director Fernando Acquarone and Diego Hurtado de Mendoza are currently
working full-time on a new project.

team has set to produce, direct, film and edit a full length film documentary

71. Welcome to Vörland

new issue of COLORS magazine will be presented on the Triennale di Milano
on June 14th
in an event with U.S. ex Vice President Al Gore.
This new issue has been conceived and art directed by three "maestros":
Cosimo Bizzarri, Scott Heinrich and Patrick Waterhouse.
I have been lucky enough to work with them providing design and ideas
on this unique issue.

fashion designer Amelie Marciasini and myself will be representing Fabrica
in Beijing during the launch of the 70th issue of Colors Magazine.
This issue has been photographed and directed by two lovely chinese artists;
Chen Jiaojiao and Peng Yangjun.
Amelie and I will be meeting many interesting characters as part of the
research for an upcoming project.

This is an enormous honor as this award is the most respected in the field

been commissioned to direct a set of idents to help create a strong visual
identity for esMadrid TV, a new TV station owned by the City Council of
Madrid with the sole objective of promoting the image of this city.
I have had the honor of directing the dancer Ana Gonzaga in the first
two spots shot in HD.
